Our Story

Steve Lewis had a dream and in 1994 Oregon Powder Coating was born.  Steve began his journey in a small 2,500 square foot shop in Lebanon, Oregon where small projects became bigger projects and small dreams became bigger dreams.

After 5 years Oregon Powder Coating had outgrown its humble beginnings and needed more space.  In 2004, Oregon Powder Coating moved to Tangent and a 14,400 square foot facility. As the business continued to grow, services were added and before long Oregon Powder Coating was doing commercial and industrial sandblasting, powder coating and had the industry’s first pick-up and delivery service for customer convenience.

Quality is the driving force behind Oregon Powder Coating. Making and keeping promises to customers is paramount and the reputation being built by Oregon Powder Coating was beginning to reach far beyond the immediate area.

In 2008, work began on “Big Bertha“, at the time the largest indoor sandblasting booth in Oregon with over 21,000 cubic feet of space.

Business was increased in 2009 by the purchase of another powder coating company which increased Oregon Powder Coating’s business by an additional 50%.

On November 30, 2017 over 50 firefighters and six engines responded to a fire at the Oregon Powder Coating facility on Old Highway 34 in Tangent where eventually a large portion of the building was lost.  Plans were quickly in place to pick up the pieces and get back into operation but with less capacity.

In 2019 construction began on Oregon Powder Coating’s new facility less than a quarter mile from the current facility and in September 2020 Oregon Powder Coating made the move into a “state of the art”, 56,000 square foot facility that houses a 24,000 cubic foot sandblasting booth for large projects, a smaller booth for increased productivity, two batch lines of custom powder coating and a fully “automated line” for large volume powder coating.

With a beautiful and bustling new facility, Steve Lewis and Oregon Powder Coating has its eyes set on a bright and “colorful” future.
